Western Returned Scholars Foundation is found and developed by Wu Xiuquan, an proletarian revolutionary, in June 1989. It is a national public foundation with a history of more than 30 years. The competent department of business is the Ministry of Education.
On October 22, 2020, the first plenary meeting of the 5th Council of the Western Returned Scholars Foundation elected the new board members. Mo Wenxiu, former head of the Discipline Inspection Group of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection in the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China, former member of the CPC Central Commission in the Supreme People's Procuratorate, and deputy director of the Advisory Committee of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, was elected as the chair of the fifth board of directors of the Western Returned Scholars Foundation.
In line with the national long-term development strategy, Western Returned Scholars Foundation aims to unite and contact overseas students, returned talents and celebrities from all walks of life to make contributions to the development of China's economy, science and technology, education, culture, health and other charitable causes. We will establish a project system focusing on talent cultivation, international assistance, healthcare, security popularization and think-tank advice, and strive to build the Western Returned Scholars Foundation into a social welfare organization with distinctive features, excellent business, innovative brand and obvious advantages.
Talent cultivation
Western Returned Scholars Foundation aims to provide training and exchange, employment and entrepreneurship services for overseas students and returned talents; provide services for domestic and foreign high-tech talents in science and technology innovation; provide services for the healthy growth of poor university students; provide services for rural primary and secondary school students to carry out sports, aesthetic education, science and technology activities.
International assistance
Based on its own duty, integrate with the Belt and Road initiative and other foreign strategies, We design and implement sustainable development projects to help people in need, protect the environment, prevent and control diseases, so as to gradually integrate into the communities of recipient countries and promote the healthy development of the local economy and society.
Healthcare
Set up health service focusing on cardiopulmonary resuscitation, disease screening, and birth defect screening to provide health services for the people in need and to help build a healthy China.
